Visual Storytelling
GOALS
• Provide strategic guidance on presentation direction
• Translate complex scientific concepts into simpler terms
• Create end-to-end visual storytelling presentations
My goal is not to make presentations look pretty. My goal is to help the scientists structure their talk and help them present complex science in a way that allows their groundbreaking work to shine. Having a UX background puts me in a unique position to be part scriptwriter and speaking coach and not just the designer. My goal is to understand the science and help the speaker distill and share it in a way that is understandable, exciting and builds a connection to the work being done with the audience. Finally, my goal is to create the visual storytelling aspects to complement the speaker and to bring it altogether into a concise and comprehensive presentation that captivates the audience and inspires them to join the mission of Fred Hutch.
