Tableau: Interactive Data Visualization

PROJECT SCOPE
• Create site architecture, user flows and design patterns
• Apply current design systems
• Improve backend workflow

The Coalition for Next Generation Life Science is a national effort dedicated to the transparency of grad student and postdoc outcomes. The goal is to help trainees make a more informed decision about where to choose to be trained based on the training outcomes of that institution. I began creating the information architecture and submitting working drafts to stakeholders and users for A/B testing. From there I collaborated with a developer to implement and troubleshoot the designs and user experience, while infusing the Fred Hutch brand guidelines within the Tableau framework. The result is an interactive product that allows users to filter through large amounts of data to find the specific information they need with convenient hover states and minimal clicks to expose detailed data. It also provides the stakeholders and developers a streamlined and more accurate avenue of updating and adding data, by pulling directly from the source, cutting the data collection and processing piece of the project nearly in half.
